The Irish Minifoootball Association is delighted to announce that the draw has taken place for the miniEURO2013 event.

The Irish are making their first appearance in European Minifootball competition and will have to play games against Israel, Moldova and Montenegro if they are to progress.

Moldova were beaten finalists last year – as the tournament was held on their soil – and will represent a tough test. Nevertheless Irish Minifootball President Declan Ford declared himself happy with the draw: “I think it gives us a tremendous chance of success,” he said. “Moldova are a very good side, but I am confident that our boys will go there and be able to give a good account.”

England and Wales play Bulgaria and debutants Spain. The English, have experience of playing the Bulgarian team – having beaten them 6-1 in their first ever match on home soil at Wembley last February, while fellow new boys Scotland will face Slovakia, Kazakhstan and Austria.

Reigning champions Romania will begin their defence with games against Croatia, Slovenia and Poland.
