The new look Ireland Minifootball team met again this weekend as preparations continue for their next appearance in European competition.

New manager Lee Kill and his assistant Pat O'Connor took the session - which included the new players that were selected by Scouts at the Ireland 6 a side Championships in July - at the Watershed I Kilkenny.

Irish Minifootball Association President Declan Ford was also present at the session and gave the faces, both on and off the pitch, a glowing reference.

"I was exceptionally impressed by what I saw," said Mr Ford. "The session were brilliant and the new players have fitted in superbly, I am more than confident that we will be able to compete really well at the forthcoming European Championships."

Those Championships were originally supposed to be in Israel, but as was announced last month, the political situation in that part of the world led to an alternative venue to be looked for.

Ireland have been involved in a general assembly meeting at which three prospective countries presented their bids. Mr Ford has voted, but declined to say who for.

The result of the secret ballot will be made public in the next few days.
