Top IMA staff have just returned from Prague, where they attended a vital meeting which could help shape minifootball in Europe for the months ahead.

The European Minifootball Federation (EMF) held its first General Assembly meeting of 2015. Representatives of all member countries took part, together with four nations who have expressed an interest in joining the family: Ukraine, Luxembourg, Bosnia and Hungary.

The headlines from the meeting saw Portugal elected as a full member, while elsewhere there was a change to the structure.

Executive board member Thanos Papadopoulos is now the CEO of the organisation. There will be an election later in the year to see which member takes Thanos’ place and joins the UK on the Executive board. Amongst other internal alterations saw the Chairman of the German Federation, Christoph Koechy, become a second Vice President along with Filip Juda of the Czech Republic.

At the General Assembly there were further discussions surrounding the ongoing strategy which Minifootball in Europe should adopt as it grows, while miniEURO 2015 was uppermost in the thoughts.

Following the success of last year’s European Championships in Montenegro, the venue and date of the 2015 event will be announced later in the spring following final checks.
