The Truth Hurts

Oh dear, the truth hurts, doesn’t it?

Mr Switzer tries lamely to defend his position, but let’s just correct a few of the things that he said in his response to us: -

1. Declan Ford and Andy Thorley no longer have involvement in the IMA. In fact, we have a new President who will be announced over the next few weeks.

2. Mr Switzer says he worked for the FAI and the Irish Sports Council for 10 years. Strange, because when we spoke to them they said they’d never heard of Mr Switzer.

3. Come on Mr Switzer, you actually live in Spain most of the time, just be open about this.

4. Mr Switzer says he operates the “largest 7-a-side minifootball league in Ireland”. Well, he does have a few teams playing in the odd tournament, we admit. And you notice how he says “7-a-side”? You note how he doesn’t say 5 or 6-a-side? That’s because there are companies operating in Ireland who have thousands of players playing in 5 and 6-a-side as against the handful of players in Mr Switzer’s 7-a-side. So, yes, he operates the largest 7-a-side league in Ireland with his handful of players, because nobody else plays it. But the largest minifootball league in Ireland? We don’t think so.

5. Mr Switzer seems to know a lot about the IMA’s relationship with Sport Ireland and the Irish Government, doesn’t he? Yet on the other hand he says he hasn’t got involved in any way in sabotaging our funding. Strange that.

But the most interesting thing about everything Mr Switzer responds is that he says he hasn’t taken our place on the EMF, but there is now just another organisation on the EMF alongside us (the Minifootball Association of Ireland (MAI)). So the EMF has two Irish Minifootball Association’s, does it? And presumably they are both going to field and Ireland team in 2018, are they?

So there you have it. As we said in our first article, none of you are safe. Even if you find out that Filip juda is working behind your back to get another member from your country on the EMF, he can always say, ‘Don’t worry, you can still be on the EMF, too!’.

So there are now two Ireland’s on the EMF. Will there soon be two Italy’s, two Russia’s, two Spain’s and two Lithuania’s?

As we said before, watch out, because you might be next.
